From prep to gather
The Augustplumb cookout guide
A few simple habits make outdoor meals smoother. Here's how we set up a great summer cookout โ and how to care for your gear afterward.

1. Prep with the right tools
Lay out your stainless tools, mitts and cleaning gear before you start. Heat-aware handles keep your hands back from the heat zone. Heat-resistant handles and mats are not fireproof, so keep everything away from open flame and stay within any printed temperature limit.

2. Pack smart for the trip
An insulated backpack or basket keeps food cool on the walk over. A waterproof-backed blanket and a folding table give you a clean surface anywhere. Pack food-contact items dry and store them clean.

3. Set a tidy table
Reusable plates, bowls and a condiment caddy keep the spread organized. Mesh covers keep insects off the food while air still circulates โ a small thing that makes outdoor dining much nicer.

4. Keep everyone refreshed
A drink dispenser saves trips back to the kitchen, and stake-style holders keep glasses upright on the lawn. Beverages are sold separately โ we just keep them steady.
